At Stamp Identifier, we respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our stamp recognition and collection app.

Your Stamp Collection - 100% Local

All your stamp scans, collection data, and images are stored exclusively on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. Your stamps never leave your phone. We have no access to your collection, and your data is protected by iOS's built-in encryption and security features.

When you scan a stamp photo or organize your collection, everything is processed and saved locally. Your valuable collection stays private and secure on your device.

AI-Powered Stamp Recognition

To identify stamps and provide accurate catalog information, we send stamp images to OpenAI's vision API for analysis. This processing is necessary to deliver expert-level stamp identification. The images are processed securely and are not used to train AI models or stored by OpenAI beyond the processing period required to generate results.

No personal information is attached to these images - only the stamp photo itself is analyzed to provide you with catalog details, valuations, and historical context.

Anonymous Usage Analytics

We collect anonymous, non-personal analytics to improve the app experience and understand how features are used. This includes:

• Device identifiers (advertising ID if you grant tracking permission)
• App usage patterns (which features you use, how often you scan stamps)
• Technical information (iOS version, device type, app version)
• Feature interactions (buttons tapped, screens viewed)

These analytics help us understand which features are most valuable and where we should focus development efforts. We do not collect personally identifiable information such as your name, email, location, or any information that could directly identify you.

App Tracking Transparency (ATT)

On iOS 14.5 and later, we request your permission to track your activity across other apps and websites owned by other companies. This tracking is used for:

• Improving ad targeting for our marketing campaigns
• Understanding which marketing channels bring the most valuable users
• Optimizing app performance and feature adoption

You can grant or deny this permission when prompted, and you can change your choice anytime in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking. Denying tracking permission does not affect app functionality - all features work the same regardless of your tracking preference.

Third-Party Analytics Services

We use the following third-party services to collect anonymous analytics:

• Facebook SDK - For marketing attribution and app analytics
• TikTok Business SDK - For marketing attribution (when enabled)
• Apple SKAdNetwork - For privacy-preserving ad attribution

These services receive only non-personal identifiers and usage data. They help us understand how users discover our app and which features provide the most value. Your stamp collection data is never shared with these services.

In-App Purchases

Subscription and one-time purchases are handled securely through Apple's App Store and RevenueCat. We don't have access to your payment information. Apple's privacy policy governs any data collected during purchase transactions. We only receive anonymous transaction events to validate your subscription status.

AI Chat Assistant

When you use the AI assistant feature to ask questions about stamp collecting, your questions are sent to OpenAI's API for processing. These conversations are not stored permanently and are not linked to your personal identity. The AI assistant helps answer philately questions, organization tips, and collecting guidance.

Data Security

Your stamp collection benefits from Apple's industry-leading iOS security:

• All local data is protected by iOS encryption
• Images and collection data are stored in your device's secure container
• Network communications use HTTPS encryption
• No cloud backups of your collection without your explicit iCloud configuration

Your Privacy Rights

You have control over your data:

• Delete your collection - Remove all stamps and data directly from the app
• Opt-out of tracking - Deny ATT permission or revoke it in iOS Settings
• Control analytics - While we don't offer an in-app toggle, you can use iOS privacy settings to limit analytics
• Export your data - Use the collection export feature to save your stamps in CSV, JSON, or text format

Children's Privacy

Stamp Identifier is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

International Users

Our app is available worldwide. Analytics data may be transferred to and processed in countries where our service providers operate (primarily the United States). By using the app, you consent to this transfer of anonymous, non-personal data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy as we add new features, integrate additional services, or as regulatory requirements change. Any changes will be reflected in the app and on this page, with an updated "Last Modified" date. Significant changes will be communicated through app notifications.
